Avalanche Danger Update

Avalanche danger has increased with a few inches of snow to level in Anchorage as of Sunday morning.  More snow is possible through the day, and higher accumulations are possible in the mountains.

Avalanche danger is expected to continue to increase in the coming days as skies clear and north winds increase.  This is expected to create potentially dangerous wind slabs, and stress existing persistent slabs, primarily on leeward and wind loaded southerly aspects.
